Responsibilities

The Procurement Manager – Coil Scheduling/Inventory is a key leadership position within our growing operation, reporting directly to the Director of Production Planning & Procurement. The ideal candidate must have experience with implementing best practices, leading a Managed Inventory program, and working in a Center-Led Procurement environment.


Major DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ability to define performance metrics for measurement, comparison, and evaluation of supplier performance factors, such as cost, quality and delivery. 
  • Ensure compliance to formal sourcing/procurement policies and preferred supplier agreements. 
  • This role will have responsibility for the management of people resources through good practices, employee appraisal systems, implementation of compensation and benefit programs, communication systems, and performance management techniques. 
  • This role will work on special projects and systems initiatives as assigned by management. 
  • Prior experience in Procurement or Inventory leadership roles with Steel materials 
  • Must be able to analyze and consolidate data from different ERP applications
  • Must have experience and general understanding of ERP applications and Business Intelligence Systems. 
  • Must be able to present to leadership and influence executive decisions 
  • Strong team leadership qualities in finding and keeping the right talent, mentoring team members and developing a high performance team. 
  • Must be comfortable communicating with a variety of business stakeholders, business partners to developers to project managers 
  • Estimated travel requirements – 20-30%

KEY DELIVERABLE

  • Ensuring compliance with desired targets of the Managed Inventory Program
  • Improve Inventory Turns while preventing Stock Outs 
  • Monthly and Quarterly reporting of Inventory Contingency Strategies

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or other related business discipline. 
  • Minimum of 8-10 years’ experience in Inventory or Supply Chain operations 
  • CSCMP, CPSM ,or APICs certifications a plus

COMPETENCIES

  • Past experience building a Center-Led Supply Chain environment
  • Facilitate and drive results in a dynamically changing environment
  • Past experience with MRP processes
  • Past experience with Steel Mill Rolling schedules
  • Past experience with Supplier score-carding and management 
  • Oracle EBS expertise a plus 
  • Must be able to work fast, be highly organized & detail oriented 
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Excel / Word / Outlook
