Responsibilities

The Western Region Procurement Manager is a key leadership position within our growing operation, reporting directly to the Director of Production Planning & Procurement. This position will require an experienced “hands-on” Procurement Leader with a background in Steel and Hardware purchasing. The ideal candidate must have experience implementing best practices and working in a Center-Led Procurement environment.

  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to work effectively with other business functions
  • Past experience building a Center-Led Purchasing team and process
  • Facilitate and drive results in a dynamically changing environment
  • Past experience with MRP processes
  • Past experience managing inventory, supplier management and driving out cost in order to improve margins and support revenue growth. 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required 
  • Strong verbal & written communication skills, must be able to facilitate meetings & write technically oriented documents 
  • Ability to define performance metrics for measurement, comparison, and evaluation of supplier performance factors, such as cost, quality and delivery. 
  • This role will ensure compliance to formal sourcing/procurement policies and preferred supplier agreements. 
  • This role will have responsibility for the management of people resources through good practices, employee appraisal systems, implementation of compensation and benefit programs, communication systems, and performance management techniques. 
  • This role will work on special projects and systems initiatives as assigned by management. 
  • Prior experience in a lead procurement role desired (Steel Purchasing, Hardware Purchasing, & Demand Planning backgrounds are key to this role) 
  • Must have experience and general understanding of ERP applications and Business Intelligence Systems. 
  • Oracle EBS expertise a plus 
  • Must be able to present to leadership and influence executive decisions 
  • Strong team leadership qualities in finding and keeping the right talent, mentoring team members and developing a high performance team. 
  • Must be comfortable communicating with a variety of business stakeholders, business partners to developers to project managers 
  • Must be experienced with effectively managing multiple projects and balance competing priorities 
  • Must be able to work fast, be highly organized & detail oriented 
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Excel / Word / Outlook and experience using MS Project a must
