Responsibilities

  • Configure, install, and maintain networking equipment (switches, routers, etc.)
  • Configure, install, and maintain network security and monitoring systems (firewall/IPS/IDS, traffic monitoring, etc.)
  • Monitor and maintain Wide Area Network and datacenter Local Area Network systems and software; troubleshoot and resolve issues as necessary, including working with network service providers
  • Create and maintain documentation that involves network/network security systems
  • Work as part of the Infrastructure Group within IT
  • Provide Tier 2 and Tier 3 support for Service Desk and Field Engineers as needed
  • Perform a variety of tasks, relying on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals
  • In depth knowledge of EIGRP and BGP routing protocols
  • Working knowledge of authentication mechanisms, encryption technologies, networking protocols including SMTP, HTTP, DNS, TCP/IP and SNMP
  • Ability and willingness to perform on call support 24X7X365
  • Demonstrated experience with: Implementing and supporting medium to large enterprise-sized Cisco LANS/WANS, exhibiting a proven understanding of established enterprise routing schemes and protocols, and VLAN requirements for proper management of varying user requirements and LAN services
  • Designing and implementing QOS; Supporting Cisco wide area networks, MPLS technology, and troubleshooting circuit issues including Broadband connectivity
  • Working knowledge of Web Security Systems, Two Factor Authentication, Cisco ASA, and Fortinet Firewalls
  • Ability to support Site-to-Site DMVPN, VPN, Client VPN connectivity, Cisco Enterprise Wi-Fi solutions
  • Ability to Install, configure and upgrade Cisco ACE Load Balancers, Fortinet Firewalls.
  • Excellent troubleshooting abilities with strict attention to detail
  • Self-motivated with a strong willingness to learn on the job and through self-study

  • Ability to establish priorities, meet deadlines, and concentrate on detailed information in a fast-paced demanding work environment

  • This position requires about 60% travel

Qualifications

 

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field preferred
  • 5+ years of experience configuring and troubleshooting Cisco network routers, switches and Fortinet firewalls for medium and large size locations and enterprises
  • CCNA or CCNP  certification REQUIRED!!
  • Working knowledge of Solarwinds Orion, Opnet, and Gigamon
  • 2+ yr. of exp. with VOIP solutions using Cisco / Avaya products

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with PCI/PII; IDS/IPS; APM; Designing and implementing Business Continuation Plans; Troubleshooting multi-vendor routers and switches; Network Management tools ( SolarWinds, Netflow Analyzer)
  • Experience with Cisco OTV, and understanding of Cisco Nexus, VOIP Technology
