Responsibilities

 

Position supports multiple departments (primarily Human Resources, Safety, and Plant Management) with presentation and project planning, data tracking, and administrative support. Assists employees, inner-office personnel, visitors, and vendors in a professional and courteous manner. Maintains reports, records, and files in accordance with company retention policy.  Operates phone system to relay and direct calls to appropriate personnel.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assists with pre-hire selection process and hiring activities including the preparation of onboarding materials and completion of orientation activities
  • Processes weekly payroll submission and absenteeism data
  • Assists with onsite events and wellness initiatives
  • Operates phone system by receiving incoming calls and internal calls. Provides general information as to location and phone numbers of personnel within the organization including other facilities.
  • Greets and assists visiting guests while maintaining safety and security protocol
  • Maintains and updates employee data in digital and printed formats
  • Processes weekly production data for plant management
  • Maintains onsite uniform, safety footwear, and recognition programs
  • Assists safety department with data tracking, presentation creation, and annual testing and training requirements
  • Maintains continuous improvement efforts in work area and assists with lean specific projects
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS

  • Minimum of (2) two years related work experience in a professional office setting.
  • Ability to read and comprehend documents including but not limited to policy handbooks, safety rules/programs, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, and simple correspondence.
  • Ability to communicate with grammatical accuracy and professional language.
  • Ability to communicate information effectively over the telephone, one-on-one, and in group presentations is required.
  • Ability to consistently maintain tact and confidentiality.
  • Ability to perform general mathematic calculations including but not limited to addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, and percentages.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to perform work instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form a must. In addition, the ability to solve problems, which involve multiple variables in a standard situation, is required.
  • Must demonstrate proficiency in resolving unexpected events and circumstances.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft based systems (Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook) is required.
  • The employee is frequently required to stand; sit; bend; stoop; use hands and fingers to handle or feel objects; reach with hands and arms; lift; climb and/or balance essential tasks.
  • The employee may be required to enter areas that are near moving mechanical parts, with occasional exposure to hazardous chemicals, and extreme cold or heat.  The noise level in the work environment is considered moderate, and may require the use of hearing protection.  The employee will be required to utilize Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when accessing certain manufacturing areas, (hard hat, gloves, welding jacket or weld bibs, safety glasses, welding hood and earplugs.)
