The Maintenance Leader will be responsible of managing a small group of maintenance employees (5-6 employees).  The Maintenance Leader is responsible for problem solving, able to work well with all departments, and be able to delegate but willing to do the work themselves.  The Maintenance Leader should be available after hours for questions or problem solving which could involve returning to the facility.


  • Responsible for minimizing production time losses associated with the breakdown or failure of production equipment
  • Responsible for the day-to-day administration of a Preventative Maintenance Program designed to establish reliability of production equipment and infrastructure
  • Responsible for the day-to-day administration of a Work Order System designed to establish priority and control over maintenance request from production personnel.  Ensures that Work Oder (Maintenance) request are fulfilled in a timely fashion
  • Establishes and maintains an equipment repair database for the purposes of historical analysis of equipment repairs and identifying preventative maintenance needs
  • Communicates daily with the Production Manager and inter-departmental personnel to identify current and on-going facility and equipment maintenance issues
  • Responsible for follow-up review of completed maintenance tasks to ensure that work is completed properly and in a safe and timely manner
  • Responsible for development and review of Standard Operating Procedures to govern the function performed by maintenance personnel
  • Supervises the productivity and evaluates the job performance of all maintenance personnel
  • Responsible for stocking and replenishment of spare parts.  Ensures that adequate spare parts are available to minimize maintenance time losses
  • Ensures that all established maintenance work areas are kept clean and safe
  • Responsible for understanding and complying with the fundamental principles associated with the Quality and Environmental Management System in place
  • Other duties as assigned


  • Must have 5 years of experience as some type of manager or supervisor
  • Must have electrical knowledge of single phase, three phase, and some knowledge of PLCs
  • Must be able to use a voltmeter and trouble shoot control wiring
  • Must be able to read wiring schematics
  • Some mechanical background preferred
