Responsibilities

As a Production Planning Coordinator, I am accountable to the Manager, Production Planning for:

  • Ensuring the systematic accuracy of the coil coating processes
  • Identifying and coordinating the proper offsite coil receipts.
  • Maintaining month end offsite coil inventory reconciliation reports. 
  • Updating and monitoring production planning KPI reports.
  • Analyze scheduling reports identifying potential manufacturing conflicts such as line loading and product matrix infractions. 
  • Working with cross function work groups on continuously improving the production planning process(s).

 

Primary responsibilities are to include but not limited to:

  • Offsite Coil Processing Inventory Management- carry out coating line systematic transactions required to maintain off site steel coil accuracies. Maintain monthly reconciliation procedures and documents as it relates the offsite coater inventories. Assist and advise manufacturing plant personnel of system issues as it relates to the coil coating process within Dynamics.
  • Scheduling and Production Planning- Review and analyse future MS production schedules and identify possible product matrix conflicts and work with the CSR team to get these issues resolved. Maintain scheduling planning KPI reports on a weekly and in some cases daily basis. Daily maintain line loading reports and prepare weekly meeting presentations for cross functional work groups. Serve as back up support for the Manager, Production Planning. 
  • The analysis, planning, execution, control, and monitoring of scheduling and manufacturing process planning activities with all business segments. Leverage the production planning process with the objective of creating increasing net value to the corporation.

 

Objectives:

  • Productivity – Ensures KPI and monthly metrics support business objectives, and are used in the identification of opportunities to drive business improvements.
  • Quality – Monitors the performance of the planning process insuring proper process are followed in order to reduce unnecessary quality cost.
  • Timeliness – develop metrics which demonstrate meeting all production planning needs.
  • Knowledge – ensure coil coating vendors and other internal customers maintain accurate reports and that information flows properly through the MS system(s).

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • This role will require a working knowledge of manufacturing operations, customer service relations and inventory planning and management.
  • he ability to meet with, and negotiate effectively with other supervisors and managers must be demonstrated along with the ability to complete multiple, complex, tasks and assignments.
