Responsibilities

We are seeking an experienced Accountant to join our team in assisting with intercompany accounting, inventory, accruals & month-end closing. This individual will cross train on fixed assets, cash, and various month end close responsibilities.

 

 

Job Duties Include:

 

Inventory     

  • Coordinate, assemble, review month end inventory balances, insuring GL agrees to subleger
  • Compile and allocate material, labor, and overhead for WIP/Finished Goods calculation
  • Research and journal corrections for inventory related coding errors
  • Allocate and journal steel rebate and other steel related entries
  • Review monthly steel obsolescence reserve calculations
  • Troubleshoot steel system subleger issues
  • Provide monthly reporting per bank financing requirements

Intercompany Accounting  

  • Compile and report weekly intercompany charges to sister and parent entities
  • Verify, reconcile, and correct outgoing intercompany charge coding
  • Compile, code, and journal incoming intercompany charges
  • Understand and manage Canadian currency operations
  • Reconcile and confirm intercompany accounts with appropriate entities
  • Coordinate and communicate with sister and parent entities as needed

Accruals and Month End Activity 

  • Compose, journal, and reconcile credit balance reclass and bad debt
  • Journal payroll and related from intercompany download
  • Track, calculate, and journal deferred warranty revenue and deferred rent
  • Allocate and journal paid time off, health insurance, workers comp, and general liability
  • Prepare and journal accruals for rebates
  • Compose and journal other entries as necessary

Miscellaneous  

  • Multiple closing duties
  • Review daily AR invoicing
  • Coordinate and provide responses to auditor sample selections and questions
  • Assist with various requests and projects as needed

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required, CPA preferred
  • Must have 3 years of Staff Accountant experience, preferred in the manufacturing industry.
  • Demonstrate extreme attention to detail in a fast paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (with high level of experience in additional Microsoft Suite tools)
  • Preferred experience in Microsoft Dynamics SL
