Responsibilities

  • Develop the most efficient ways to use people, machines, and materials to produce a product
  • Establish standards, policies and procedures for installation, modification, testing, and operation according to engineering principles and safety regulations 
  • Manage the capital request process for multiple manufacturing facilities
  • Utilize Lean Manufacturing principles to reduce waste and Six Sigma to reduce variation 
  • Assess best practices from Metl-Span companies and implements across the network
  • Utilizes Project Management tools/principles to facilitate engineering projects
  • Conduct projects to develop and improve manufacturing methods and processes for production of various company product lines
  • Support all operations’ special projects, internally to home plant and corporate initiatives
  • Create, maintain, and communicate KPI performance to plant manager(s) 
  • The position will report directly to the VP of Operations, but will have a dotted line to the Plant Manager of the Texas facility
  • This position will require 25% travel

Qualifications

  • This position requires a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial, Manufacturing, or Mechanical Engineering 
  • 5-10 years’ experience in role
  • Extensive experience with Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma
  • Must have excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Must be PC proficient including modeling and statistical software
  • Strong desire for upward growth
