Is responsible for the Estimating Department. Time is of essence in meeting the schedule. The Estimating Manager must be able to schedule, engineer, and price metal building systems both economically and in accordance with the high standards of the organization.



  • Is responsible for the scheduling of estimate requests through the Estimating Department Is responsible for the direct supervision of the estimators. 
  • Is responsible for overseeing building designs used for the production of work essential in maintaining project quotations. 
  • Is responsible for Engineering support for Customer Service and Sales. 
  • Is responsible for assuring the use of Metl-Span Standards in the designs. 
  • Must be able to solve problems encountered during the estimating and quotation stage. 
  • Is responsible for a program of self-development through continuous training programs and educational opportunities, to better equip one’s self in the performance of the job. 
  • Responsible to assist in the development of potential candidates in the department, through training programs and educational opportunities to better qualify them for the job they are performing, and to develop them for more responsible positions. 
  • Responsible for screening design loads on all incoming estimate requests for compliance with the minimum load criteria of the latest edition of the MBMA. 
  • Is responsible for maintaining competitive pricing levels and negotiating prices with outside venders.


  • Reports to the Vice President
  • Maintains relations with the Field Sales Force and Builder Network
  • Maintains relations with Staff Engineering and other departments
  • Handles relations with builders, architects, and engineers concerning engineering and estimating matters.


  • Ability to review and interpret project specifications
  • Ability to read blue prints
  • Must be computer proficient
  • Must be detail and customer service oriented
  • Must be comfortable on the phone with customers
  • Must be able to ask for the sale
  • Knowledge of insulated panels a plus
