Responsibilities

This position is responsible for maintaining the supply and organization of the maintenance repair parts and supplies. Individual will do inventories, stock supplies, initiate purchase requisitions, receive shipments, perform bench repairs on equipment and assist other maintenance personnel as required.

  • Installs, starts up and shuts down equipment in accordance with company safety procedures and OSHA requirements. Utilizes Lock-out/Tag-out procedures, confines space procedures, fall prevention procedures and reports unsafe conditions.
  • Responds in a timely manner to the needs of production equipment and personnel.
  • Communicates daily with internal personnel from manufacturing and quality control in order to assist in resolving problems and achieving company goals.
  • Responsible for the successful and timely completion of projects as assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor. Implement changes to plant process control equipment as approved by supervisor and document all changes.
  • Utilizes the work order system both in entering work orders and in completing work orders as directed.
  • Communicates and documents maintenance issues so that repairs may be scheduled.
  • Assists other maintenance personnel as required.
  • Performs preventive mechanical maintenance functions as directed.
  • Responsible for understanding and complying with the fundamental principles associated with the “Quality and Environmental Management System”.

Qualifications

  • Must possess basic mechanical knowledge. Some exposure to hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical equipment in an industrial environment is a plus.
  • Experience with identification and selection of basic fasteners, fittings and shop supplies is highly desirable.
  • Must be capable of accurately handling paperwork.
  • Must be basically fluent in Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Must be able to read and understand basic mechanical drawings and repair manuals.
  • Previous experience in inventory management is a plus.
