Responsibilities

  • Overseeing the operation of the entire Shipping Department, including the loading of trucks, packing of stores, and the coil warehouse
  • Training/coaching operators in order to meet our company's goals and objectives
  • Constant communication with all departments in the plant regarding order status
  • Continuously seeking new and innovative ways to solve problems while maintaining focus on continuous improvement
  • Supporting/assisting team members in order to implement quality and productivity improvements through continuous improvement projects
  • Balancing safety, quality, productivity, and employee morale to achieve positive results in all areas
  • Prepare and conduct daily/weekly departmental meetings focusing on safety, quality, and productivity
  • Assisting with Human Resources related functions, which will include progressive discipline and enforcement of CENTRIA's policies and procedures
  • Maintenance of all required paperwork involved with shipping process 

Qualifications

Responsible and accountable for daily operations that include safety, quality, cost, and on-time deliveries.  Our changing and challenging environment requires that this individual possess the following skills:

  • Must have a High school diploma or equivalent is required. 
  • Must have at least two years of related experience to be considered; five years of experience in a manufacturing environment with a proven track record of increased responsibilities and accomplishments is required
  • Must be computer literate with proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel, and AS400
  • Must be able to operate a forklift, crane, nail gun, and other department equipment as needed
  • Must exemplify demonstrated leadership skills
  • Must be willing/able to travel
  • Must be willing/able to work overtime and available to work all shifts.**
  • Must process a good attendance record.**
  • Must be a self motivated team player who is safety conscious
  • Must be detail-oriented with a strong communication to quality
  • Must be able to delegate and prioritize
  • Must possess problem solving ability that is results-oriented
  • Must possess excellent planning and organizational skills
  • Must be able to collaborate with peers and direct reports
  • Must be a quick learner with the ability to handle a multiple project workload
  • Must be customer service oriented with the ability to interact with a wide variety of people both internally and externally (I.e., customers, PMTs, PLS personnel, etc.)
  • Must be able to take initiative, maintain confidentially, and meet deadlines
